What we believe
WE BELIEVE THAT:
GOD is the eternally existent Creator of heaven and earth, that He created man in His own image and likeness for the purpose of His pleasure and for the redemption of all things to come.
MAN transgressed God's command and thereby lost his inheritance through sin, that in order to redeem His creation, God became a man, born to a virgin, thereby avoiding Adam's sin and its condemnation.
JESUS of Nazareth is the incarnate God, and that He was fully God and fully man, that He lived a sinless life, though He was tempted in all areas, just like all men. He was accused, condemned, and crucified vicariously for all mankind, that He made full and complete payment for the souls of all men, past, present, and future. Those who receive His sacrifice on the cross as the guilt offering for their sin will be born again into eternal life. That Jesus ascended into heaven and now sits at the right hand of the Father and continuously lives to intercede for the saints, that He is our high priest and propitiation for sin. When He ascended, He also promised to send the Holy Spirit to indwell, empower, and enable all believers, and He promised to return again at the end of the age. For a believer, water baptism is the symbol of the death of the old man and the resurrection of the new man in Christ, thus signifying an association with those who are born again believers, and a dissociation from the former way of life.
THE HOLY SPIRIT is God's agent for accomplishing His purpose of bringing the Church to its intended harvest and maturity. Through the Holy Spirit, we are able to do and be all that God has intended for the church. Baptism with the Holy Spirit is immersion in God.
THE BIBLE is the collection of God's words to man, and instruction (as well as a warning and admonition) to the Church to remain faithful, dedicated, and pure. It is holy to those who honor the holiness of God. It is judgment to the disobedient. It is life to the submitted. The Word is direction, encouragement, life and health to the body, and peace to the mind. It divides and makes distinguishable the soul, the spirit, the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
As Jesus ascended, He gave serving gifts to the Church. Tthe apostle, prophet, evangelist, pastor, and teacher are five of those gift that are tasked with the purpose of bring the whole man into the fulness of the the stature which belongs to Christ. The church is giving the mandate of expansion and establishment of the Kingdom of God and its constitution which is righteousness. Eph. 4:9-16
We believe that God formed THE CHURCH which is the Bride of Christ, placing emphasis on the apostolic/prophetic foundations with Jesus being the chief cornerstone. We believe the primary mission of the Church is to fulfill the Great Commission-“Go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.” Mt. 28:19,20
We also believe that the Holy Spirit now resides in every person who receives Christs sacrifice on the Cross as an offering for their sin. The Holy Spirit is the seal of our inheritance and the earnest of the things promised to us in biblical texts. We teach that baptism in water is the outward identification of the inward transformation and that the baptism with the Holy Spirit is the spiritual equivelant of marriage. The one being baptised is filled with the one who is baptising making the two into one. Spiritual gifts are manifested for the individuals edification and the common good. 1 Cor. 12:1-11
We believe that marriage is holy and is to be held in highest regard as the spiritual microcosm of the Kingdom of God and all its resulting relationships. The covenant of marriage is to be the forerunner of all familial relationships and declares to the world Gods fidelity to mankind and mans fidelity to God. Marriage is between a man and a woman only.
